Job Description

Careerscape is recruiting for a healthcare organization that needs experienced Medical Coders to review medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. You'll work remotely ensuring proper coding for billing and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Review medical records and assign ICD and CPT codes
  • Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with guidelines
  • Abstract clinical information from documentation
  • Query physicians for clarification when needed
  • Stay current with coding updates and changes
  • Meet productivity and accuracy standards
  • Participate in coding audits and education
  • Communicate with billing staff on coding issues
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information

Requirements

  • High school diploma required, associate degree preferred
  • CPC or CCS certification strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years of medical coding experience
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
  • Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with coding software and encoders
  • Self motivated to work independently from home
  • Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace
